Already into the final quarter of the year, WA artist Connie Kis Andersen has found 2008 to be unrelenting in terms of touring and promoting the music from her award winning album ONCE AGAIN. Her new track, What People Say, is out to Australian radio now. Andersen, no stranger to the tyranny of distance and the difficulties of promoting her music from Perth, has been steadfast in the pursuit of her passion, despite “what people say”. It is the joy of creating music that drives her and so Connie Kis is unique to the industry given that she decided to pursue a career as a recording artist at an age when most others would never dare. Moreover, she is doing it successfully. Mid September, she returns to the USA on her second tour for 2008. Her US single Happy Day is currently charting in the top 20 of the IndieWorld Charts, published out of Nashville. Andersen also returns to Tamworth in 2009 as a host on the Country Music Express, but before that will travel on the same train to Parkes as a host for the Elvis Festival. On the home front in Western Australia, as well as performing her own regular gigs, she has co-ordinated and worked in the successful Girls Gone Gospel Show, due to be presented again in November. She was recently appointed by the WA Minister for the Arts to the Contemporary Music Panel for a third term, given her background and experience in the workings of the music industry in Western Australia.
